La comida más emblemática de Cracovia es obwarzanekun pan en forma de anillo.
Si quiere probar la cocina polaca, no deje de hacerlo:
- pierogi (albóndigas rellenas de requesón y patata, col o carne)
- bigos (una deliciosa mezcla de carne, chucrut y col)
- schabowy z ziemniakami (puré de patatas con chuleta de cerdo frita)
- golabki (arroz con carne envuelto en col)
- zurek (deliciosa sopa agria de harina de centeno con carne, huevo cocido y patatas)
- chleb ze smalcem (smalec is basically a pork jam; it’s best to eat with bread and pickled cucumber)

Café Botánica es nuestro lugar favorito para tomar un café en la plaza del mercado.
It’s green, cozy, and not that crowded like other cafes at the heart of Rynek.
Era lo suficientemente tranquilo como para que Mia se echara la siesta por la tarde. El WiFi era genial, así que hemos estado trabajando en línea durante ese tiempo.
El café era bueno, así que realmente no se puede esperar nada más de una buena cafetería.
Slawkowska1
Un lugar para comer para los amantes de la carne. El restaurante está situado justo en Rynek. Sirven diferentes tipos de carne: ternera, cerdo, pato, cordero, marisco y mucho más. Las raciones son ENORMES.
We’ve been eating lamb and strawberry steak and we couldn’t really eat it all. Slawkowska1 is a great place to have dinner- it’s just a few steps away from the heart of Rynek so it’s usually not as crowded as restaurantes que rodean la plaza del mercado.
Restaurante de arte
Kanonicza 15
Un lugar verdaderamente emblemático, uno de los mejores sitios para comer en Cracovia. Se encuentra en la calle Kanonicza, una de las más antiguas de la ciudad.
We’ve been dining at Restaurante de arte más de una vez y todo ha sido siempre excepcional. La comida es deliciosa y bastante única. Definitivamente no es un lugar para un bocado rápido.
Hay que tener tiempo para probar y experimentar la comida artística que sirven. Si buscas una buena comida en Cracovia, este es tu sitio.
Otra cosa que nos encanta del Art Restaurant es su patio ajardinado. Cuando hace suficiente calor fuera, puedes cenar en un oasis verde y tranquilo.
Como nota al margen, Art Restaurant ofrece traslados de lujo en Rolls-Royce, así que si quieres organizar una cena romántica para tu pareja, pueden recogerte en el hotel y llevarte de vuelta.
Carnicero (Rzeznik)

Este asombroso restaurante de carnes merecía un artículo aparte. Puedes leer nuestra reseña de este restaurante aquí. To keep it short- it’s the best place to have a steak in the city.
Situado en la plaza del mercado, cuenta con una cervecería al aire libre, para que pueda sentarse fuera en verano mientras disfruta de su bebida favorita.
Además, la comida en Carnicero es realmente delicioso.

Going there is one of the best things to do in Krakow with kids! LikeKonik is a cafe and playground all in one. It’s our recent discovery and we absolutely love likeKonik.
There are classes for children in this cafe every day but you can also go there to have a coffee while your kids will have fun.
Their website is only in Polish but check out their Facebook to get a general idea on what likeKonik is.
Zapiekanki u Endziora

The best place to eat in Krakow at night. Zapiekanki u Endziora are something that all the locals know. They are simply delicious.
The bar is situated in the heart of Kazimierz. Be prepared that you may have to wait more than half an hour to get your zapiekanka. But it’s worth it.

They say it’s the most hipster place in Krakow. It’s where locals come to have brunch or breakfast in Kraków, as well as party in the evening.
In the verano, you can sit outside and chill out. There is a small beach that belongs to Forum, which makes this place even better.
Jagienka

The list of the best places to eat in Krakow won’t be complete without mentioning at least one bar mleczny (milk bar).
It’s a restaurant where you can fast eat homemade, traditional Polish food, like pierogi. Our favorite milk bar in Krakow is Jagienka, located very close to Rynek. You can have a 2-course meal of the day with a drink there for as little as $4.5!
Bar u Szwagra
The best fast food Krakow. There are many U Szwagra in the city, the most popular are on Lea 26 y Karmelicka 26. The bars are famous for the best kebabs in Krakow. It’s the students’ favorite place to eat, especially at night.
Keep in mind that they are not the real Turkish kebabs but the Polish variation of this famous dish. ‘Szwagier’ serves very unhealthy food
¿Dónde beber en Cracovia?
Yes, Krakow is a party city! And let’s face it- drinking in Poland is quite popular. There are many places where you can drink cheaply in Krakow.
The best are:
- Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa on Plac Nowy 7 (very close to Zapiekanki u Endziora!),
- Banialuka at Plac Szczepanski 6 (close to the Old Town)
- Ambasada Śledzia on Stolarska 8 (close to the Old Town as well).
A shot of Polish vodka or a beer cost 5zl ($1.5).
