The first stop on our trip is Gniezno. Not many know, that Gniezno was actually the first capital of Poland. As one of the oldest cities in Poland, and it has the history written all over it.
How to explore it? Follow the guided Royal Route, leading to the Cathedral. Along the route, you can admire fascinating sculptures of the first kings of Poland. At the Cathedral, see The Gniezno Door.
The Gniezno Door is a decorated bronze door at the entrance of the Cathedral. It dates back to the 12th century and is famous for the detailed sculptures. This door holds cultural and historical significance, and it is one of the first historical artifacts, that Polish children learn at school about.
Biskupin – Visiting Time, 2 hrs
Biskupin is an ancient, reconstructed prehistoric settlement, dating back to 500 BC (500 hundred years older than Colosseum in Rome).
It is showcasing wooden houses, defensive walls, and watchtowers. The on-site museum displays archaeological artifacts, and you can participate in interactive workshops.
It’s a must-visit historical place if you want to learn about the ancient civilizations of Central Europe.
Bydgoszcz – Visiting Time, 3 hrs
What can you do in this charming town? Take a stroll through the streets and colorful facades of the Old Town, especially the Old Market Square. Then, take in the beauty of the Bydgoszcz Canal by walking along its picturesque banks or even take a short boat trip, as Bydgoszcz is referred to as Polish Venice., due to the stunning views.
Finally, visit Mill Island, where you can enjoy lovely gardens and discover the historic mills transformed into museums. Take your time to unwind after the intense day in one of the local restaurants, and fill the laid back yet vibrant energy of the town.

Kalisz is called the oldest town of Poland, however, there have been some artifacts discovered, that the settlements in this areas goes back to 2nd century AD. What to see in Kalisz?
- Cathedral of St. Nicolas, built in years 1253-1257
- Zawodzie – The first stronghold in Zawodzie was erected in the years 850-860. Reconstruction of the castle, surrounded by a defensive rampart, reaching 5 meters in places, is the main part of the archaeological reservoir.
- Theater, built in 1801 at the City Park on the Prosna River. This cultural facility is the third-oldest drama theater in Poland. Among the locals, it is considered a cultural attraction.
- Market Square – Kalisz has stunning old townhouses, a stroll along the streets will take you back in time.
Zielona Gora – visiting time, 4 hours
What to see in Zielona Gora?
- Ethnographic Museum Ochla – you can visit here the eighteenth-century wine tower with a small vineyard and old accessories for wine production. There is also a lovely wine cellar.
- Botanic Garden ? there is a mini zoo in there as well. Good place to relax, after a long trip.
- Market Square, and promenade ? colorful tenement houses, numerous cafés and funny Bacchus figurines will make you stay here for longer.
