Similar to the central parts, it can get very hot during the days, but thankfully, temperatures always drop at night to give a bit of a rest.

August is a prime time to visit southern Poland, given that the weather is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking in the Tatra Mountains or sightseeing in the historic sites of Krakow.

Keep in mind that tourist hotspots in the south of Poland can become congested during this period, so reserving accommodations and excursions in advance is vital. There are a few things to remember to bring along when traveling to Poland in August. Sunglasses, or SPF Filter you will get in every souvenir shop, but not all things can be bought.

  • A driving license, IDP (International Driving Permit) is required for non-EU members
  • Passport

  • Visa if required
  • Power adapters, and power sockets in Poland are EU standard (different from the UK, or USA)
  • Vaccine record, information about illness or allergies (no special vaccines are required to enter Poland, but it’s always good to have such record in case of emergency)
